If you need a simple way to add vintage glamour to a plain venue, think about chair sashes. There are many ways in which a simple touch can create a wow factor when you enter a room. Diamante brooch clasps on a simple black sash will create a classy look for a black tie or black and white themed event , while feathers and sparkle could be added to an organza, satin or velour sash for a 1920′s themed party…! Lace doubled over satin adds depth and will beautify a plain chair, either with or without a chair cover. And remember flowers are not just for bouquets! They and can bring an extra special touch when added to a sash…The possibilities really are endless, and it is a cheap and effective way to stamp your style on your function room!

We were thrilled to be exhibiting in the Vintage room at Dorset’s Wimborne Winter Wedding Show on Sunday 17th November. in a quaint little part of the historic town of Wimborne, brides to be, their grooms, their mums, friends and families, gathered to gain inspiration for their Big Day in the forthcoming saeson. We met some truly lovely people, and showed off a selection of our stunning vintage crockery for hire, as well as beautiful vintage styled birdcage centrepiece and our range of vintage linen for hire. We styled our table modern with a retro twist, and wanted to show brides out there what can be done with a vintage theme when you think outside the box. Who needs those boring table number holders when you can have literary heros and heroines like ‘Pride and prejudice’ to draw your guests in. We love creating a talking point and making your table not just a place to eat, but a place to explore and intrigue! With our vintage styled cake pop favours, delicately wrapped in cello bags with lace and name tags, and our exquisite bridal party cupcake favours on show, it was a tempting table indeed. Now, we must get on with those quotes!
Inspiration is everywhere!
We love Vintage and are always on the look out for the new, the wild and the wonderful when it comes to vintage inspired things in life. So coming across Dolce & Gabbana’s fantastical creation the golden birdcage shoe, from their couture Autumn Winter 13/14 range… we were simply mesmerised!!! Is there a vintage bride out there that would love to wear these on her wedding day? Walking could be tricky so you may find your groom carrying you across more than just the threshold…! Regardless, we love them!
The gorgeous Mr & Mrs Lyons tied the knot in a small but stunning church at Parley , Dorset. Their vintage tea party themed reception conveyed perfectly their strong family connections and the meaning behind their choice of venue. With the bride’s creativity and the help of Decorate My Day, guests were treated to a tempting sweetie buffet, beautiful vintage table settings, hand made favour jars of marshmallows, personalised chocolates, and fun games areas were scattered throughout the venue. All in all, a wonderland of delights!
